- This is the most comprehensive live sound
course available. Theory is backed by ample practical hands-on sessions. Students will develop skills
in sound assessment and will learn about signal paths and setting
equalisation for instruments, speakers
and sound systems.
- This course is aimed at those who would like to gain an understanding of the sound engineers role and responsibilities and will also benefit band managers, back line technicians,
road crew, promoters, etc.
- The course is intended for musicians who want to tour professionally and learn how to effectively use monitor and front of house engineers. This course is also intended for people who want to find out more about our courses before committing to enrol on our more extensive courses.
What you will learn
Instruction takes place at the Scala in
Kings Cross, one of London top venues.
Our courses focus on front
of house and monitor mixing simulating the live concert and production environment. In addition to explaining the general
characteristics of sound, our tutors instruct
students on how to identify and distinguish
frequencies in an audio mix. Students also learn how to set up
and equalise PA systems in relation
to equipment characteristics and room
acoustics.
LAE students learn on state-of-the-art
sound equipment. gaining hands-on experience mixing bands that are booked throughout the course to perform exclusively for this purpose. Class
numbers are small so that students can receive individual attention.

People of all backgrounds and ages are
welcome to take LAE courses. No prior
specialist knowledge is required, but
it is expected that students have an ability
to grasp basic operational methods and
develop their listening skills.
Qualifications
LAE is recognized by live industry professionals
and production companies. Students will receive a certificate on successful completion of the course.
