Renowned as one of London's first underground music venues, the Scala originally staged appearances by the likes of Iggy Pop & The Stooges. In the 80's the venue reverted to being a cinema, displaying art-house films and running its famous film and music all-nighters. Since March 1999 the Scala has operated as a successful Live venue and Night Club and hosts regular weekend club nights but is also a very popular venue for live music on week nights. |

As the course is based at the Scala, LAE students are able to take full advantage of the Live events, which provides them with valuable experience in a real concert environment. Some of our graduates have even stayed on to work as full time sound engineers at the venue. Scala’s history of live music shows include: Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Moby, Chemical Brothers, Outkast, Lionel Ritchie, Stereophonics, Robbie Williams, Kelis, The Scissors Sisters, Joss Stone, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, Rhianna, Phil Collins, Moby, Kaiser Chiefs, Jessie J, Paolo Nutini, The Killers & many more! |
