How many people are on the course?
There are a maximum of 8 people on each course.

 

How long has LAE been running?
LAE has provided training in live audio since 1994.

 

Who is it suitable for?
Anyone looking to gain the knowledge to work confidently in live sound engineering. No prior knowledge is required.

 

Will I need a visa to do the course?

As the course is only a week or month long it can be covered on a tourist visa by most country's, but always check with your country's embassy.

 

Do we get reading material?
Handouts are provided and those who are taking the Live Operator course will be provided with a PDF File of the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook.

 

Do I need to bring anything with me?
We recommend a small pen-size torch and a clip board will also be useful for taking notes on.

 

What should I wear?
Comfortable and loose fitting work wear.

 

Is there an exam?
There is no exam, but you will be asked throughout the course to demonstrate what you have learnt.

 

Do we get to work with real bands?
Yes! We arrange for bands to play throughout your course.

 

Is there anywhere I can stay nearby?
You'll find a guide to the local area including some hotels on the local hotel pages.

 

How do I get there?

Do I get a certificate on passing the course?
On successful completion of your course you will be provided with a signed certificate/diploma.

 

What are the job prospects?
We provide you with the confidence and practical knowledge to kick start your career in this industry. LAE is frequently approached by venues, bands and sound companies who are looking to recruit.

 

Can I come and visit you before I register?
Yes. Please contact us to arrange a visit.

 

How do I secure a place?
You need to check course availability by emailing. Once availability has been confirmed you need to register and pay a deposit. You will need to pay the balance of the course fee on the start date of the course.

 

What if I need to cancel my course booking?
Should you need to cancel please contact us immediately. You are entitled to a full refund providing that you cancel a minimum of 31 days before the course start date.

 

Do you have a brochure?
All our information is kept up to date on our web site. We've made each page easy to print out.

 

Can I bring my band to practice with?
Yes. We encourage students to bring bands that they will be working with after the course.
